Privacy policy
Template last drafted: June 2026. This is a general starting template, not legal advice — have it reviewed (for example by a solicitor or a UK GDPR compliance service) before relying on it, and fill in every [bracketed] placeholder with your real details.
Who we are
Plainpurse is an independently run website based in the UK. You can reach us by email at [contact email].
What this policy covers
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit Plainpurse, why, and what choices you have. It does not cover any third-party site we link to.
Information we don’t collect
We don’t require an account to use this site. Figures you enter into our calculators are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript and are never transmitted to, or stored on, our servers.
Cookies and similar technologies
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you’re happy with cookies used for ad personalisation through Google AdSense, or would prefer necessary cookies only. Your choice is remembered on your device and used to tell Google’s advertising tags whether to personalise ads for you. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your cookies and revisiting the site.
Advertising
This site shows adverts served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites, where you’ve consented to that. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through Google Ads Settings or Your Online Choices, regardless of the choice you made on this site.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site — for example which pages are popular and how people arrive. Google Analytics uses cookies and may collect information such as your approximate location, device and pages viewed. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept cookies via our banner; if you choose necessary cookies only, analytics tracking stays disabled. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not collect personal data. You can read more about how Google handles data at policies.google.com/privacy.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have rights over any personal data we hold about you, including access, correction and deletion. Since we collect very little personal data by design, most requests will simply confirm we hold nothing beyond basic, anonymised technical logs, if any.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page.
